That is the next unassigned number on the list. It sets your place in the invite order, it prints on the badge we mint on launch morning, and it is the thing the price lock is attached to. The form assigns it in about a second, with five invite codes attached.

Not a discount code and not early access to a landing page. These are structural — each one is a thing that stops being possible the moment the product is public, and each one is attached to a number that gets issued exactly once.
Whatever Pro costs on launch day is what you pay for as long as the account stays open. We will raise the price in year two — the way every app does — and your line item will not move.
Not offered later · Nobody gets grandfathered in after the fact. The lock is issued with the number.
Wave 1 is 12,500 day-zero seats, handed out before the App Store listing is public and before a single install ad runs. The next 15,000 seats open two weeks later.
Not offered later · There is exactly one day zero.
Shelf data turns on metro by metro, and a metro turns on when 40 of its members are actively confirming. Austin cleared that at 3,100 founding members; Columbus cleared it at 2,240 while larger metros are still short.
Not offered later · The wave order is frozen the week before launch.
A gold ★ that sits on your profile, your posts and every confirmation you file. It is minted on launch day against the list as it stands that morning, and then the mint closes.
Not offered later · The run is capped at whatever the list reads that morning.
A founding channel with the people writing the code. You will get replies from a person, usually the person who broke the thing you're reporting. It is not a support queue and it does not scale — which is why it closes when the list does.
Not offered later · Nobody is added to the channel after launch morning.
Twelve niches ship at launch. Numbers 13 and 14 get picked by founding-member vote — rent and utilities, insurance shopping, unit-price grocery math and subscription auditing are the four on the ballot today.
Not offered later · One vote per founding number, counted once, before the roadmap locks.
Confirmations and aisle maps count double for your first twelve months, while the data is thin and the first scan at a Target in Tulsa is worth more than the hundredth.
Not offered later · Weighting normalizes for everyone who joins after launch day.
Founding numbers come with five codes that hand the whole thing — number, badge, price lock — to whoever burns them. Nobody who joins after launch gets to give that away.
Not offered later · 5 codes × the founding list is the entire supply, forever.
No application, no referral gate, no waitlist-for-the-waitlist. An email address, a number back, and eight things that expire on launch morning.
Founding members are counted by metro and the board is public. Size is not the gate — 40 members actively confirming shelf tags is. Austin cleared that at 3,100 members; Los Angeles is 220 behind on the count and still short on confirmations, so it waits until week five.
Your metro isn’t on the board? Eighth place is Phoenix at 1,960, so it takes roughly 2,000 people to break in. That, and the scout count underneath it, both start with one number.
Shelf-level data is only worth shipping where enough people are confirming it. So the app turns on metro by metro, ordered by confirmation density rather than population — and everything that isn't shelf-level works everywhere from the first morning.
Schematic, not a projection. 26 metros shown of 214 with at least one founding member. A metro turns on when it reaches 40 active scouts.
The five metros with the densest confirmation history. Every one of them already has more than 900 mapped aisles.
38 shelf-data retailers live · 4,820 clearance posts in the last 30 days
Big lists, good coverage, and enough scouts per metro that a shelf count is confirmed within the hour.
31 shelf-data retailers live · penny list mapped in all 8 metros
Coverage is real but thinner. These twelve cleared the scout gate late, most of them in the last six weeks.
24 shelf-data retailers live · aisle maps being filled in weekly
Online deals, coupons, cashback, cards, points and award travel work everywhere on day one. This wave is about the in-store half.
Web pricing everywhere from day zero · shelf data as scouts arrive
After that it’s a schedule, not a leaderboard. Every number claimed before then still counts toward the metro you claim it from.
Your confirmation screen carries five invite codes. They are not a discount and they are not a referral bounty — whoever burns one arrives with exactly what you have: a founding number, the badge, the frozen price.
You: Your number drops by 400 and your metro gains a point on the wave board.
Them: They join at your metro's position instead of the bottom of the national list.
You: Three at 400 each. Enough to clear the wave-2 seat line from anywhere in the back half of the list.
Them: All three inherit founding status and the same price lock you got.
You: A day-zero seat and the gold ★ on launch morning, whatever wave your metro is in.
Them: Five founding numbers you handed out — the only way anyone gets one from a person.
The cap is real. Five codes per founding number, no top-ups, no leaderboard prizes, and a code that lands on an address already on the list does nothing for either of you. It is a small lever on purpose.
Your number, your wave, your metro’s current position, and the five codes — copyable, shareable, each one traceable to the number that issued it.
11,970 of 12,500 wave-1 seats claimed · 4,240 of them by invite
None of the twelve is held back for a later release and none of it sits behind Pro. Your number changes when you get in and what you pay — never how much of the app you see. Day-one coverage is 82+ retailers, 58 of them with store-level shelf data.
goat is in the free tier from the first morning, not held back as the thing you upgrade for. Hand it a nine-item list and it prices the whole thing across your stores; ask which card to put a Home Depot run on and it reads your wallet. It answers in store names and numbers, and it says so when it hasn’t checked something yet. Ten questions a day on free, uncapped on Pro.

There is no dollar figure on this page because there isn't one yet. What is decided is the shape: the free tier is genuinely free and carries all twelve niches, Pro lifts four caps, and a founding number freezes the Pro line item on the morning it gets set.
No card, no clock, no feature held hostage. About 70% of the beta cohort never hit a cap in a normal week.
Everything in free, the four caps lifted, and three things free doesn’t have:
The founding lock: whatever the launch-morning price turns out to be, that is your price for as long as the account stays open — through every price rise, every feature we add, every vertical you vote in. It follows the account, not a card on file.
Every quote below is from the private beta. Their confirmations are the aisle data day zero runs on, which is the only reason a shelf count means anything on launch morning.
“I was in four Facebook groups, two Discords and a text thread. Everything I actually used is one feed now, and the aisle number is right.”
“The comps are on the card. I stopped opening a second app to work out whether a $17 air fryer was worth the drive.”
“I gave goat my list. It priced all nine things across three stores and told me which two trips were actually worth making.”
“It knew my 5/24 dates and told me to hold. The 150k landed nine days later. That's the whole product.”
“Nine minutes of warning is the difference between a pair and a screenshot. I cancelled three cook groups.”
“It tells me when the 'sale' is the same price it's been all year. I trust that more than the deal itself.”
Twelve pages, one product. Read whichever one you came here for — the form is the same on every single one, and so is the number it hands back.
Built for a household budget, or built for a $9 grocery run between lectures — same feed, different defaults.
It's your position on the launch list, assigned the second you submit the form, and it's permanent. It sets your place in the invite order, it prints on your badge, and it's the only thing the price lock is attached to. Numbers are issued in order and never reissued.
We haven't set it. That is the honest answer and it's why there is no price on this page. What we can commit to is the mechanic: the free tier stays genuinely free with all twelve niches in it, Pro lifts the caps, and whatever Pro costs on launch day is the price a founding member keeps until they close the account.
No. There is no clock on it. The feed, the community, the alerts, goat and your founding badge do not expire. The caps are real — 5 live store checks a day, alerts batched every 30 minutes — and Pro lifts them. That's the whole difference.
Everything that isn't shelf-level works on day zero, everywhere: online deals, coupons, cashback, card and bank bonuses, points, award travel, gift cards and resale comps. Waves only gate in-store data, because a shelf count is worthless until enough people near you are confirming it. Every founding member who signs up from your metro moves it up the board.
Yes, and it's the only lever there is. One person you invite moves you up 400 places; three moves you up 1,200; five buys a day-zero seat regardless of which wave your metro is in. They arrive with founding status too — price lock included — which is why nobody is being asked to spam anyone.
You get a very good app and none of this. The badge is minted once against the list as it stands that morning, the founding channel closes, launch pricing becomes the old price, and the invite codes that carry founding status are already all in circulation.
One when your wave opens. One the week before launch with your number and your invite codes. One on launch morning. If your city jumps a wave you get told, because that's the only other thing that changes what you'd do today.
No. The list exists to send you an invite. Inside the app, goat learns what you buy so it can be useful, and the Me tab shows you in plain language what it thinks it knows, with a delete button on every line.
The number costs nothing, commits you to nothing, and is the only thing on this page that can’t be recreated after launch morning. Take it now and decide about Pro in the fall.
It stays that way for as long as it takes someone to type an email address. After that the next one out is #61,484, and the badge, the invite order and the frozen price go with it.
